Spirulina Smoothie

Wondering how you can pack even more nutrition into your morning smoothie? Enter the spirulina smoothie.

This one isn’t just green—it’s loaded with minerals your body’s begging for, especially potassium, the unsung hero of mineral balance that 97% of Americans don’t get enough of.

Yep. 4,700mg of potassium a day is the goal—and most of us are barely hitting half that.

Why do minerals (especially potassium) matter?

Potassium keeps your energy steady. It supports muscle recovery, blood pressure regulation, hydration, even your nervous system. When it’s low, your body knows. You feel off. Foggy. Fatigued. Like you’re dragging through the day with no gas in the tank.

This smoothie helps change that.

With potassium-packed ingredients like banana, mango, pineapple, cucumber, and coconut, you’re starting your day with a mineral head start.

Here’s what’s in it (and why it matters):

  • Banana – A classic for good reason: ~400mg of potassium plus fiber to keep blood sugar happy

  • Mango – Adds a sweet tropical vibe and ~300mg of potassium

  • Pineapple – Brings bromelain for digestion and anti-inflammatory support

  • Coconut water or milk – Electrolyte-rich hydration with around 600mg of potassium per cup

  • Spirulina – The star of the show. A microalgae bursting with chlorophyll, B vitamins, iron, and phycocyanin (a potent antioxidant that supports your body at the cellular level)

  • Hemp seeds – A hit of plant-based protein, healthy fats, and even more minerals

  • Cucumber – Cooling, hydrating, and sneaks in extra fiber and potassium

Spirulina’s Superpower (with a PSA)

Spirulina is a powerhouse. But only when it’s sourced well.

Because here’s the catch: where it’s grown matters. Low-quality spirulina can be contaminated with heavy metals or toxins—especially if it’s harvested from unregulated waters. That’s not a wellness win, that’s a slow drip of stress on your system.

Always go with a reputable, third-party-tested brand.

This Spirulina Smoothie is:

  • Anti-inflammatory

  • Blood sugar balancing (thanks to fiber + natural fruit sugars)
