Did you know — Minerals and metals are like rivals.
They compete for space in your body.
When your minerals are low, heavy metals move in, causing chaos.
Balancing minerals is like evicting these unwanted guests.
Real Talk: How Worried Do I Need to be About Heavy Metals?
Now — We need to talk about all the fear mongering on the Internet right now about heavy metals…
On the one hand — I love seeing awareness of toxin exposure spread and more people getting proactive to safeguard their health.
On the other hand — I hate seeing it create stress and fear and overwhelm.
There are so many people on the Internet talking about heavy metals in everything from your favorite water bottles to your go-to chips.
Here’s the thing:
Heavy metals like mercury, lead, arsenic, aluminum, etc., are everywhere. They’re unavoidable and that – we can’t do much about.
What we can do is take steps to reduce exposure like filter water, eat organic, etc. but every single one of us comes into contact with these elements every day.
The question is —
How good are you at getting rid of them?
Because here’s the thing —
Two people can be exposed to the same amount of, say arsenic, and one person’s body may take that in and detox it right back out, no problem. While in another, the same arsenic may stick around and build up.
Why?
So many reasons…
There’s one key factor though related to heavy metal accumulation risk that’s 💯 within our control.
That’s mineral levels.
The Important Link Between Minerals and Metals
When our mineral stores are depleted, which happens a lot more easily than you might think, heavy metals come in to fill the gap.
After all, they’re all elements.
Remember the Periodic Table?

The Difference Between Minerals and Metals?
Minerals, metals – they’re all part of nature.
The difference is minerals have a known function in the body.
Heavy metals don’t.
BUT there’s still plenty of interaction between the two.
Minerals affect metals and metals affect minerals.
For instance, take calcium and lead — which compete.
So when lead comes in, calcium gets pushed out.
And visa versa – when calcium comes in, lead gets pushed out.
So, if calcium is low, it can mean you’re more vulnerable to lead accumulating in tissue (like bone!).
Now, that doesn’t mean you should go take a bunch of calcium (that’s a whole other post).
What this means is a sure fire way to protect yourself from heavy metals is to keep your mineral levels up and balanced.
It also means the safest and gentlest way to detox heavy metals is to replace minerals.
How to Balance Your Minerals
Two places to focus in:
Food — how minerals are coming in.
Stress — why minerals are going out.
And what can be really helpful is getting a read out on your mineral status.
In my practice I use a simple hair test to do this that gives us data on your mineral levels over the past 3-4 months.
With this test, we can see minerals, heavy metals, and infer details on your metabolism, adrenals, thyroid, hormones, blood sugar, liver health, and more.
That’s nerd talk for: You’ve tried cutting caffeine, going to bed earlier, and even “eating healthier”—but nothing’s worked. This test pinpoints exactly why you’re still feeling off, so you can stop guessing and finally address the root cause.
We get a boat load of specific data from this one test, and then use it to personalize nutrient support to give your body exactly what it’s missing.
When you fill in those gaps, it’s like upgrading your body from dial-up to high-speed internet.
You wake up before your alarm with a burst of energy, ready to tackle your day without that desperate need for coffee.
Your mind feels sharp—you finally remember what you walked into the kitchen for.
At night, you fall asleep easily and stay asleep, waking up refreshed instead of groggy. It’s like the fog lifts, and you feel steady, strong, and fully yourself again.
Minerals are the absolute foundation of LIFE.
They’re the literal spark plugs of the body.
Without them, processes in the body don’t happen.
Kinda a big deal if they’re outta whack – which for most people they are – hence why so many are dealing with metal toxicity!
With this one test, we can identify mineral imbalances and even pinpoint how they’re impacting your energy, sleep, hormones, and overall health. No more trial and error—just answers and solutions designed specifically for you.
Imagine feeling like yourself again, only better. More energy to play with your kids after work.
Clearer thinking during that big meeting.
A deeper, more restful sleep that makes you excited to start your day.
Minerals are what make it all happen.
