Check These 3 Markers to Prevent Metabolic Dysfunction

If you’re not looking at these three lab markers together, you could be missing metabolic dysfunction.

In this post I want to show you why it’s so essential to look beyond standard lab work and test fasting glucose, fasting insulin and Hemoglobin A1c all together at the same time….

Here’s the problem —

Basic blood labs you get at your doctor’s office don’t tell the whole story.

Take my client Lindsey for example…

The labs she came to me with showed her fasting glucose at 94mg/dL.

That’s considered “normal” — perfectly within the standard reference range.

We ran my set of labs and here’s what we found…

metabolic dysfunction in labwork

She’s on the cusp of pre-diabetes.

This is what metabolic dysfunction looks like.

Metabolic dysfunction just means the body isn’t effectively processing food to generate energy as it should. Left unchecked, this can lead to issues like high blood sugar (and eventually Diabetes), high cholesterol, abnormal blood pressure, and fatty liver disease.

If we’d just looked at fasting glucose again (this time 92mg/dL, down from 94 mg/dL), we’d have thought her blood sugar was getting better when in fact it was getting worse.

When actually what was happening (and completely missed in the labs) was she was developing Insulin Resistance – the first stage of metabolic dysfunction, her insulin was going up, pushing her blood glucose down.

Lindsey never would have known her metabolic health was in big trouble if we didn’t check fasting insulin and Hemoglobin A1c, which usually isn’t until glucose is out of range (above 100mg/dL),

At that point it’s too late. The train has left the station. And the level of metabolic dysfunction is 100x harder to reverse.

Not in Lindsey’s case though —

Because she took her health into her own hands, sought out answers instead of settling for “labs look good” when she knew something wasn’t right – Lindsey caught it early.

We got her started on a plan to turn her metabolic dysfunction around.

And a short 5 months later, look what happened…

And she has the weight loss, change in body composition, and energy to go with it.

Lindsey’s story isn’t unique — I see this all the time.

People are falling through the cracks of our broken medical system.

A system that’s set up to treat disease once it’s already taken hold.

Not to prevent it from forming in the first place.

That requires going outside the system.
Looking beyond what’s “standard” and covered by insurance (unfortunately).

Not settling for “labs are normal.”

When you know something’s off.

I promise you, actual real answers are out there for you.
You have to take matters into your own hands and go find them.

To help you do exactly that I’ve introduced my NEW….
