We need to talk about the difference between health care and creating health….
I happened to be at the hospital last week (not to worry, everyone is a-OK)…
And I just had to show you this….

- A Strawberry Snack Pack
- Cranberry juice cocktail
- Broth
- Iced Tea
- 3 sugar packets
or for a better visualization 11.5 teaspoons!
Add to that artificial ingredients and Red 40…Someone make it make sense….
Then I remember — silly me.
I’m at a hospital.
Where the focus is on treating disease,
not creating health.
Two very different things.
Which is the whole problem.
We say we have “health” care but what we really have is disease care.
The system is reactive. It treats illness and disease.
It’s not set up to be proactive. To create health.
We have to stop expecting our medical system to be something that it isn’t and then getting mad at it for falling short.
You don’t expect your exterminator to also make your yard look beautiful.
You have a landscaper for that.
A flourishing, healthy yard requires more than pest control.
Creating a beautiful aesthetic that makes neighbors walking by stop and do a double take is something totally different.
Same is true for creating health health.
If you want more than reactive disease treatment, you need more than a doctor.
You need someone who can help you create thriving and lasting health.
And just like a balanced and thriving garden becomes immune to pests…
Thriving health repels disease.
Making the exterminator (or doctor) unnecessary.
This is the work I do with my one-on-one clients inside my functional health coaching practice.
Like the landscaper, our approach to creating health is about weeding out the bad (infections, toxins, inflammation, etc.), and seeding more of the good (diet, habits, nutrients, minerals, etc.)
We identify precisely what your body needs and devise a tailored plan to get rid of the pests, fill in the gaps, and the result is your own thriving ecosystem (read: you feel like yourself again, only better).
First step is my new Fresh Start Session.
This is where we connect the dots between your health history, symptoms, all the details — then plan and plot what your body really needs to thrive.
I’ll listen, ask the right questions, and we’ll connect your symptoms with solutions — so you can finally get some real answers, know exactly what to do next, and be on your way to a more vibrant and healthier you.
