Why is Cancer Increasing in Young People?

Have you seen these headlines about why is cancer increasing in young people…

One in every three people is expected to have cancer in their lifetime now.

That’s insane.

One study found cases in people under age 50 are up by 79% since 1990.

The million dollar question… why?

Why is Cancer Increasing in Young People?

Doctors may be baffled.

I’m not.

While nothing about cancer is simple, the economics of health are…

The crap we’re exposed to has gone up…

  • 2000 new chemicals get approved for use every year in the U.S. – 7 new a day
  • GMOs are in 75-80% of conventional food in the U.S.
  • Food companies are the largest employers of scientists tasked with creating “cravability” (ie. making their products addictive)

While nutrition has gone down…

  • The amount of magnesium in a stalk of broccoli today is half what was 50 years ago
  • Stress is the norm (dual-income household, devices making us accessible 24/7, etc.) stress uses up our nutrient reserves at a faster rate depleting us more
  • Our government subsides corn, wheat and soy to make processed foods and meat artificially cheap

Of course cancer increasing is way more complex than this. But just think how much has changed even in the last 30 years…

Our biology is no match for that.

Dysfunction and derangement as a response makes sense.

What’s to Blame for Cancer Increasing?

I’m seeing articles blaming diet (red meat, high sodium – btw, the error here deserves a whole separate post) alcohol, and smoking.

Notice where blame is going — your choices.

And where it’s not going — all the things we don’t get a choice in — what’s sprayed on our food, how our food is grown (GMO, depleted soil), how the animals we eat are raised (on hormones and antibiotics), the chemicals that food is packaged in, the toxins dumped in the water, air, the list goes on….

Yes, our choices matter.

But they’re a drop in the bucket compared to what’s changed in our food supply and environment.

Until doctors, scientists, researchers look at these factors they’re going to continue to be baffled…

We Don’t Have Time for “We Don’t Know”

I decided a long time ago to stop waiting on the so called experts to find the solution.

When one expert tells you they don’t have an answer, that doesn’t mean there isn’t an answer out there.

Nowhere is this more true than in the world of health.

We don’t have time to take “we don’t know why” as an answer from our healthcare system anymore.

You have to take your health into your own hands and go find the answers out there.

I’m here to tell you though, you don’t have to go it alone.
